Program Overview

Màster Universitari en Biotecnologia per a la Salut i la Sostenibilitat

The Master's Degree in Biotechnology for Health and Sustainability is a postgraduate program offered by the Universitat d'Alacant.

Profile and Admission Requirements

  • The program is designed for students with a scientific-technical background, particularly those with degrees in biology, chemistry, biotechnology, biochemistry, medicine, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, agronomy, and other related fields.
  • To be eligible for admission, students must meet one of the following requirements:
    1. Hold a Spanish official university degree or another degree from an institution of higher education within the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that grants access to master's degree studies.
    2. Hold a foreign higher education degree that has been homologated to a Spanish official university degree that grants access to master's degree studies.
    3. Hold a foreign higher education degree obtained from a university or higher education institution outside the EHEA, without the need for homologation, provided that the degree grants access to master's degree studies in the country where it was issued.

Admission Criteria

  • For the general contingent, admission will be based on the student's overall academic record.
  • In case of a tie, priority will be given to the student who completed their degree in the shortest time. If the tie persists, the Master's Academic Committee will resolve the issue through a personal interview with the candidates involved.
  • For the remaining places, the admission criteria will be based on the student's academic record (6 points), research experience (3 points), and previous professional experience (1 point), according to the scale approved by the Master's Academic Committee.

Pre-Registration and Enrollment

  • Pre-registration is done exclusively through UACloud, and students can check the results of the admission process personally.
  • After the publication of the definitive lists of admitted students, an email will be sent with a password to enroll through the Virtual Campus.

Offer of Places

The program offers 20 places per academic year.

Adaptation

  • A table of adaptation is proposed for students from existing doctoral programs in Experimental and Applied Biology and the interuniversity master's degree in Advanced Optometry and Vision.
  • The recognition of credits from other official studies or non-official university studies will be based on the adequacy between the knowledge and competencies acquired by the student and those provided in the master's program.

Recognition and Transfer of Credits

  • The University has a policy for recognizing and transferring credits, which includes the recognition of credits from official studies, non-official university studies, and professional or work experience.
  • The recognition of credits will be based on the adequacy between the knowledge and competencies acquired by the student and those provided in the master's program.
  • The transfer of credits requires prior admission to the master's program and will be based on the inclusion of all credits obtained in previous official studies, without the need for recognition.
