Mŕster Universitari en Cičncia de Materials

The Master's Degree in Materials Science is a postgraduate program offered by the Universitat d'Alacant.


Profile of Admission

The profile of admission considered suitable for admission to the Master's Degree in Materials Science is the accreditation of any of the following situations:


  1. Holding an official Spanish degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related areas.
  2. Holding a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or related areas obtained according to plans of study prior to the entry into force of RD 1393/2007.
  3. Holding a university degree issued by a higher education institution in the European Higher Education Area that is equivalent to the aforementioned degrees.
  4. Holding a foreign degree that is not homologated but demonstrates a level of training equivalent to the corresponding Spanish official university degrees.

Requirements for Access

To access the official Master's teachings, it is necessary to:


  1. Hold a Spanish official university degree or another degree issued by a higher education institution in the European Higher Education Area that enables access to Master's studies in the country where the degree was issued.
  2. Hold a foreign higher education degree that has been homologated to a degree that allows access to the requested studies.
  3. Hold a university degree obtained in a university or higher education center outside the European Higher Education Area, without the need for prior homologation of the studies.

Admission Criteria

The admission criteria will be established by the Academic Commission of the Master's program. The criteria for evaluating admission are:


  • 90%: degree and transcript in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, and related areas.
  • 10%: other merits (English, collaboration grants, research collaborations, etc.).

Pre-Registration and Enrollment

Pre-registration is done exclusively through the internet, and enrollment is done after the publication of the definitive lists of admitted students.


Offer of Places

The number of places offered for the Master's program is 20 per academic year.


Recognition and Transfer of Credits

The University has a policy for recognizing and transferring credits from other official studies or professional experience. The recognition of credits is subject to the criteria established by the Academic Commission of the Master's program.


Recognition of Credits in Master's Studies

Credits from other official studies or professional experience can be recognized, provided they are related to the Master's program and meet the established criteria.


Recognition of Credits Obtained in Official Studies

Credits obtained in official studies can be recognized, taking into account the adequacy between the knowledge associated with the subjects or courses taken by the student and those provided for in the study plan.


Recognition of Credits Obtained in Non-Official Studies

Credits obtained in non-official studies can be recognized, provided they confer at least 75% of the competencies of the subjects for which credit recognition is sought.


Recognition of Professional or Labor Experience

Professional or labor experience can be recognized in the form of credits that count towards obtaining an official degree, provided they confer at least 75% of the competencies of the subjects for which credit recognition is sought.
