Program Overview


Mŕster Universitari en Cooperació al Desenvolupament

The Master's Degree in Cooperation for Development is a comprehensive program that aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to work in the field of development cooperation.


Objectives

  • To provide students with a deep understanding of the concepts, theories, and methodologies related to development cooperation.
  • To equip students with the skills and competencies necessary to design, implement, and evaluate development projects and programs.
  • To foster critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills in students, enabling them to address complex development challenges.

Structure

The program is structured into two semesters, with a total of 90 ECTS credits.


  • First Semester:
    • Tronc Comú (Core Modules): 24 ECTS credits, focusing on basic concepts of development and cooperation.
    • Specializations:
      • Sostenibilitat (Sustainability)
      • Planificació Integral del Desenvolupament Local (Comprehensive Local Development Planning)
      • Crisi Migratňries, Cultura i Desenvolupament (Migration Crisis, Culture, and Development)
      • Salut Global (Global Health)
      • Cooperació i Polítiques de Desenvolupament (Cooperation and Development Policies)
      • Gestió de Projectes i Processos de Desenvolupament (Project and Development Process Management)
  • Second Semester:
    • Orientació Investigadora (Research Orientation): For students choosing a research orientation, including practices and introduction to research.
    • Orientació Professional (Professional Orientation): For students choosing a professional orientation, focusing on practical applications and professional development.
    • Treball de Fi de Mŕster (Master's Thesis): 10 ECTS credits, where students work on an original research project under the supervision of a tutor.

Competencies

Upon completion of the program, students will have acquired competencies in:


  • Understanding the theoretical and conceptual frameworks of development cooperation.
  • Designing, implementing, and evaluating development projects and programs.
  • Critical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving in development contexts.
  • Communication, teamwork, and leadership in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments.

Mobility and Exchange Programs

The program offers opportunities for mobility and exchange through international agreements and partnerships, allowing students to study or conduct research in other countries.


Practices and Internships

Students are required to participate in academic external practices, which provide hands-on experience in development cooperation. These practices can be conducted in public administrations, NGOs, or private companies working in the development sector.


Master's Thesis

The Master's Thesis is an original work that demonstrates the student's ability to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the program. It is supervised by a tutor and presented publicly at the end of the program.
