Introduction to Hacettepe University's Food Engineering Program

Hacettepe University's Food Engineering program is designed to educate students who will become leaders in the Turkish food industry, equipped with world-standard knowledge of science, technology, and engineering.


Program Details

The program is accredited by the Engineering Education Programs Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MÜDEK) for a period of 5 years, starting from September 30, 2021.


Research and Facilities

The university has various research laboratories, including the FoodOmics Laboratory, which houses the Hacettepe University FoodOmics Culture Collection (HUFCC). The HUFCC is a culture collection model established under the Hacettepe University BAP Rapid Support Project, aiming to conserve and characterize microbial biodiversity.


Rankings and Achievements

Hacettepe University's Food Engineering program has been ranked among the top programs in the world, according to the ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. In 2021, the program was ranked between 201-300 globally in the Food Science & Technology field, making it the only Turkish university to be included in the rankings. The program has also been ranked first in Turkey in previous years (2018, 2019, and 2020).
