Bachelor in Economics and Administration
The Bachelor in Economics and Administration is a three-year program (180 credits) at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. The program provides a broad and fundamental education in business economics, marketing, organization, and management, and teaches central connections between economics and business management.
Description of the Study
The Bachelor in Economics and Administration is built in line with national guidelines for economic-administrative subjects. You will gain a solid foundation that can be used in both private business and public administration. The first two years of study are common and compulsory for all students and comprise 120 credits. Admission Requirements
The admission requirements for the Bachelor in Economics and Administration include:
- General study competence or real competence
- Proficiency in English (if the course is taught in English)
- Mathematics R1 or S1+S2 from upper secondary school (recommended)
Real Competence
Applicants who do not have general study competence, but are 25 years or older, can apply for admission based on their real competence. The applicant must have work experience of at least 5 years, which can be replaced by:
- Military/civil service (first-time service), up to one year
- Relevant education from upper secondary school, folk high school, or equivalent
- Relevant unpaid work (trustee positions, organizational work, politician)
- Child care work for own children can count up to one year
Additionally, the following academic requirements apply:
- Norwegian from Vg2 (upper secondary course I from Reform -94)
- English from Vg1 (basic course from Reform -94)
- Mathematics from Vg1 (basic course from Reform -94)
The application deadline for applicants with real competence is March 1st.
