The Musikk - ĺrsstudium (Music - One-Year Study) is a foundational music education program designed to provide students with a broad introduction to the world of music, both theoretically and practically. The program aims to prepare students for further music studies and is open to all individuals interested in music, regardless of their career aspirations.

- Admission Requirements: General study competence and an admission test, which includes a digital video recording of 1-2 self-selected pieces on the student's instrument.
Program Structure
The program consists of the following components:
- Main Instrument (30 study points): Focuses on solo and ensemble repertoire from various epochs, genres, and styles central to the instrument.
- Hearing and Theory (10 study points): Covers music theory, listening, and hearing, as well as arrangement and composition.
- Choir (5 study points): Emphasizes the use of the voice, communication, and ensemble playing.
- Basic Piano (5 study points): Teaches basic skills for solo playing and accompaniment on the piano.
- Elective Courses (10 study points): Offers two alternatives:
- Alternative 1: Introduction to Music Production (5 study points) and Practice and Music Mediation (5 study points).
- Alternative 2: Music Education (10 study points), focusing on the didactic and practical approach to teaching music.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completing the program, students will have acquired the following knowledge, skills, and general competences:
- Knowledge: Music mediation, personal musical development, learning by listening, imitating, and practicing, basic music theory, concert planning, and mastering techniques for different performance situations.
- Skills: Leading, creating, and participating in singing and ensemble playing, realizing and mediating a relevant repertoire on the main instrument, using a simple setup for sound reproduction/recording, applying theoretical and practical exercises in music theory and hearing training, and mastering basic techniques for playing and accompanying oneself on the piano.
- General Competence: Taking responsibility for one's own artistic and musical development.
