Course Description
This course is designed for students in the Bachelor's program in Social Work and cannot be taken as a single course. The course focuses on central themes such as inclusion, equality, and participation, as well as ethics, welfare change, guidance, relationship building, and communication.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the course, students will have gained knowledge about the function and placement of practice sites within welfare services, as well as the legal basis and rules for the practice site's service provision. Students will also be able to apply theoretical knowledge to implement necessary measures and treatments for social problems and refer further when needed.
Teaching Methods
The course consists of a combination of lectures, group work, and practice over 12 weeks. The expected workload is approximately 520 hours, including self-study.
Examination
The course is assessed through a practice evaluation, which is either passed or not passed. To be eligible for the examination, students must have completed and passed the following mandatory work requirements:
- Individual written assignment
- Mandatory guidance meetings
- Mid-term evaluation
- Final evaluation
- Individual reflection note
Continuation Examination
Students who do not pass the ordinary examination and those with valid absence will be given access to a continuation examination.
