Program Overview
The Droneteknologi, ingeni½r - bachelor program is a 3-year, 180-credit degree offered by UiT The Arctic University of Norway. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of drone technology, including the technical systems that enable drones to function, as well as the regulations and safety protocols surrounding their use.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- General study competence or real competence
- Mathematics (R1+R2) and physics 1 (HING)
- Alternatively, applicants may qualify with:
- General study competence and a passed real subject course
- A passed 1-year introductory course for engineering education
- A 2-year technical college degree according to the framework plan established by the department in 1998/99 and earlier study arrangements
- Real competence requirements:
- Applicants over 25 years old may apply based on real competence
- Relevant work experience of at least 5 years (full-time equivalent)
- Up to 2 years of the required work experience can be replaced by:
- Military or civilian service (first-time service), up to 1 year
- Relevant education from upper secondary school, folk high school, or equivalent
- Relevant unpaid work (trustee positions, organizational work, politics)
- Childcare work for own children, up to 1 year

Program Structure
The program consists of two main parts: an engineering component and an operational component. The engineering component covers fundamental mathematics, physics, and programming, as well as topics such as:
