Introduction to the Bachelor in Building Surveying with Honours

The Building Surveying Programme in the School of Housing, Building and Planning, Universiti Sains Malaysia aims to produce competent Building Surveyors who are able to function efficiently as members of the construction industry. Building Surveying is a rapidly growing profession in Malaysia and its services are highly needed in all economic and development situations. Its scope begins from the very early stage of planning a development project to construction management, building pathology and forensic, maintenance, and up to conservation of historical buildings. A career as a professional Building Surveyor includes every aspect of a building life cycle from its planning stage to restoration, demolition, and redevelopment.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

• To produce Building Surveying (BS) graduates with knowledge, mastering leadership skills through enhancing interpersonal and communication skills.
• To produce Building Surveying graduates with outstanding personality, and personal skills, and a global entrepreneurial mindset in providing quality services to the public.
• To produce ethical and professional Building Surveyors with appropriate numeracy skills and competency by leveraging on current digital technology in built environment sustainability.
