Program Overview

The Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Automation program is offered by Shanghai University, with two academic levels: specialist and bachelor's degree. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in mechanical design, manufacturing, and automation.


Program Requirements

The program has the following basic requirements:


  • For specialist level: students must master the necessary knowledge in computer application, engineering mechanics, mechanical design, electrical and electronic technology, mechanical manufacturing technology, and numerical control technology. They must also possess basic skills in computer drawing, mechanical processing, and design.
  • For bachelor's degree level: students must master the knowledge in probability theory and mathematical statistics, computer software foundation, industrial microcomputer, detection technology, programmable controller, modern design methods, mechanical manufacturing equipment design, precision processing, special processing, automated manufacturing systems, and economic management. They must also possess the ability to design and work with modern mechanical manufacturing.

Admission Criteria

  • Graduates with a bachelor's degree or above from any university (including self-study exams) can directly apply for the independent bachelor's degree program.
  • Graduates with a specialist degree in mechanical manufacturing and automation (including the original self-study exam "mechanical automation" major) can directly apply for the independent bachelor's degree program.
  • Graduates with a specialist degree in other majors from any university (including self-study exams) must take additional courses in mechanical manufacturing foundation (including practice) to apply for the specialist-to-bachelor's degree program.
