Introduction to the Community College Program

The Community College at Shanghai University has introduced an "Adaptive Pioneer Course" for the 2023 freshman class, aiming to help students adapt to university life and learning.

Program Overview

The program is designed to assist students in transitioning from high school to university, covering aspects such as learning content, methods, and pace, as well as life and self-management. The course is offered online through Tencent Conference and includes a series of lectures and discussions.

Course Content

The course covers various topics, including:

• Academic adaptation, focusing on subjects like mathematics, physics, and chemistry
• Growth adaptation, sharing experiences and advice on university life, learning methods, and personal planning
• Elective course guidance, providing information on course selection and registration

Lecture Schedule

The course consists of 26 lectures, held over a period of 10 days, starting from August 11th. The schedule includes:

• August 11th:
  • 10:00-11:30: How to balance academic and extracurricular activities
  • 18:30-20:00: How to spend the first year of university
• August 12th:
  • 10:00-11:30: University chemistry learning methods and content
  • 15:00-16:30: Introduction to humanities courses for freshmen
  • 18:30-20:00: Sharing experiences in scientific and technological innovation
• August 13th:
  • 10:00-11:30: Calculus learning content and methods for humanities students
  • 15:00-16:30: Introduction to courses for freshmen in the science and engineering category
  • 18:30-20:00: Sharing experiences in calculus competitions
• August 14th:
  • 10:00-11:30: Education on university rules and regulations
  • 15:00-16:30: Introduction to courses for freshmen in the science and engineering category
  • 18:30-20:00: Introduction to courses for freshmen in the economics and management category
• August 15th:
  • 10:00-11:30: Calculus learning content and methods for economics and management students
  • 15:00-16:30: Introduction to community college extracurricular projects
  • 18:30-20:00: How to make academic plans and manage oneself
• August 16th:
  • 10:00-11:30: Calculus learning content and methods for science and engineering students

Program Objectives
