PhD Public Health
Overview
The PhD in Public Health at the University of Essex offers a unique opportunity to undertake research in a variety of public health contexts, such as schools, hospitals, and community settings. Based in the School of Health and Social Care, this program provides access to Masters-level research methods modules and the University's Proficio research training scheme. The PhD is available on a full-time (3-4 years) or part-time (6 years) basis, with an additional year for completion.
Entry Requirements
- UK Entry Requirements: A Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, such as health science or social science, is required. Alternatively, advanced research skills developed through an alternative route may be considered. A well-developed research proposal is essential, and applicants are normally required to attend an interview.
- International & EU Entry Requirements: The University accepts a wide range of qualifications from applicants studying in the EU and other countries. English language requirements include an IELTS score of 6.5 overall or equivalent.
