Overview

The MA (by Dissertation) Creative Writing is a postgraduate research course offered by the University of Essex. Entry Requirements

• UK entry requirements: A 2:1 or above (or international equivalent) in a relevant subject such as creative writing, theatre/drama studies, literature, film and media studies, modern languages, and art history.
• International & EU entry requirements: A wide range of qualifications from applicants studying in the EU and other countries are accepted.
  • English language requirements: IELTS 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in writing, with a minimum score of 5.5 in all other components.

Structure

• The course is a one-year Masters By Dissertation program of advanced study and research.
• A research degree doesn't have a taught structure, giving students the chance to investigate their chosen topic in real depth and reach a profound understanding.
• The MAD is a one-year Masters By Dissertation program of advanced study and research.
• Dissertation: The thesis should be no longer than 30,000 words.

Fees and Funding

• Home/UK fee: Ł5,238 per year
• International fee: Ł20,625 per year
• Fees will increase for each academic year of study.
