The FdA International Tourism Management course is a two-year, full-time program that combines academic study with practical experience in the tourism industry. The course is based at the Edge Hotel School, located on the University of Essex's Colchester Campus, and provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a luxury hotel environment.

Entry Requirements
To be eligible for the FdA International Tourism Management course, applicants must meet the following entry requirements:
UK Entry Requirements
- GCSE: Mathematics and English C/4, or equivalent.
- Plus one of the level 3 qualifications below:
- A-levels: CC or 64 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 1 full A-level or equivalent.
- BTEC: MPP or 64 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 1 full A-level or equivalent.
- Combined qualifications on the UCAS tariff: 64 UCAS tariff points from a minimum of 1 full A-level or equivalent.
- IB: 24 points or 64 UCAS points to include a minimum of 1 Higher Level subject.
- IB Career-related Programme: We consider combinations of IB Diploma Programme courses with BTECs or other qualifications.
- QAA-approved Access to HE Diploma: 64 UCAS points.
- T-levels: 64 UCAS points.

English Language Requirements
- English language requirements for applicants whose first language is not English: IELTS 6.0 overall, or specified score in another equivalent test that we accept.

- COMPONENT 01: COMPULSORY - Foundations of Tourism (30 credits)
- COMPONENT 02: COMPULSORY - Delivering Tourism and Hospitality Operations and the Customer Experience (30 credits)
- COMPONENT 03: COMPULSORY - Finance for Tourism Businesses (15 credits)
- COMPONENT 04: COMPULSORY - The Tourism Business Environment (15 credits)
- COMPONENT 05: COMPULSORY - Conferences and Events (15 credits)
- COMPONENT 06: COMPULSORY - Tourism Operations (15 credits)
Year 2
- COMPONENT 01: COMPULSORY - Special Interest Tourism (30 credits)
- COMPONENT 02: COMPULSORY - Management and Leadership (15 credits)
- COMPONENT 03: COMPULSORY - Sustainability in Events and Hospitality (15 credits)
- COMPONENT 04: COMPULSORY - Digital Marketing and Revenue Management (15 credits)
- COMPONENT 05: COMPULSORY - Continual Professional Development (15 credits)
- COMPONENT 06: COMPULSORY - Visitor Attraction Management (15 credits)
- COMPONENT 07: COMPULSORY - Contemporary Issues in the International Tourism and Hospitality Industry (15 credits)
Teaching and Assessment
- Year 1 consists of up to 22 weeks of teaching, 8 weeks gaining experience in the hotel, and 2 weeks self-study, in addition to holidays.
- In Year 2, you will have up to 16 weeks of teaching, 12 weeks of project work, and 2 weeks self-study, in addition to holidays.
- During a teaching week, you would spend around 9 hours in lectures or smaller seminars.
- Your experience at Wivenhoe House will be in the conference and events department, reception, and housekeeping.
- Term dates for this program may differ from the standard termly timetable.
Fees and Funding
- Home/UK fee: Ł9,790 per year
- International fee: Ł21,500 per year
- Fees will increase for each academic year of study.
