Introduction to the Lenten Retreat in Daily Life

The Lenten Retreat in Daily Life is a unique opportunity for spiritual growth and development. This retreat is designed to help participants deepen their faith and relationship with God through daily prayer and spiritual direction.

Program Details

The Lenten Retreat in Daily Life takes place from February 17 to March 31, 2026. The program is open to all students, both undergraduate and graduate, of the Marquette community. It is offered in two formats: online and in-person.

Program Structure

• The retreat begins with an opening prayer service, where participants commit to at least 15 minutes of daily prayer.
• Each participant is matched with a spiritual director, with whom they meet weekly to discuss their prayer and life.
• The program concludes with a closing prayer service.

Location and Format

• The retreat can be completed online or in-person, allowing participants to choose the format that best suits their circumstances.
• For online participants, spiritual direction takes place online, and participants can opt to receive a hard copy or electronic copy of the Lenten Retreat in Daily Life booklet.
• For in-person participants, spiritual direction takes place on campus, and the opening and closing prayer services are held in the Chapel of the Holy Family.

Schedule

• Opening Prayer Service: Tuesday, February 17, 4:30-5:15 p.m. at Chapel of the Holy Family.
• Spiritual Direction: Once per week for four weeks, with meetings scheduled at a time that works for both the participant and their spiritual director.

  • Meeting 2: March 2 - 6
  • Meeting 3: March 16 - 20
  • Meeting 4: March 23 - 27
• Closing Prayer Service: Tuesday, March 31, 4:30-5 p.m. at Chapel of the Holy Family.
