Program Overview

Introduction to Global Engineering Field Immersions

The Global Engineering Field Immersions program, hosted by Marquette University's Opus College of Engineering, offers students the opportunity to explore engineering industry and culture in specific regions alongside a cohort of peers. This is achieved through one-week and two-week field immersions that are typically offered during mid-semester breaks and over summer, with an expanding list of destinations and themes.

Program Details

The itineraries for these immersions include visits to a region's engineering companies, universities, and research institutions, as well as historical and cultural sites that shape each region. The benefits of participating in this program include:

  • Meeting international engineering professionals and students to discover their approach to problem-solving, leadership, work, and life.
  • Going behind-the-scenes with international engineering organizations that lead solutions locally and globally.
  • Gaining valuable international experience in a shorter-term program that aligns with other goals, commitments, and graduation requirements.

  • Belgium (Spring Break | March 8 - 14, 2026): This trip includes visits to Brussels and Antwerp to explore regional engineering companies, universities, local culture, and history.
