Program Overview
Introduction to the ENHANCE Winter School
The ENHANCE Winter School, titled "Winter School in Data Literacy. Data Literacy in Space," is a program organized by the Warsaw University of Technology in cooperation with the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Milan. The program is funded by NAWA and brings together 30 students from 6 ENHANCE universities.
Program Details
The winter school is part of the "Certificate in Data Literacy" microprogram and consists of several modules. The program took place online from October 20-24, 2025, and October 27-31, 2025, and on-site at the Warsaw University of Technology from November 3-7, 2024. The final part of the winter school will be held online from November 12-21, 2025.
Program Structure
- The program includes lectures and presentations by invited guests, including:
- Prof. dr hab. in. Robert Olszewski and dr in. Agnieszka Wendland from the Faculty of Geodesy and Cartography, who presented a lecture on the model of the Mars terraformation process.
- Dr in. Piotr Paka, the main organizer of the Winter School, who presented issues related to data collection models on Mars.
- Karol Orzechowski, a student of the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, who presented a speech on "What is Data Literacy and what should we know about it?" and on the processing of field data.
- Pawe Czepiec, a doctoral student from the Warsaw University of Technology Doctoral School, who gave an online presentation on the processing of data from the Ingenuity helicopters on Mars.
- The program also includes a visit to the CENAGIS laboratories in J¾zefosaw, where students listened to lectures by invited guests and experienced a demonstration of the work of a Mars rover in a terrain.
Program Outcomes
- The winter school will conclude with the presentation of group projects by students and the preparation of final reports by each team.
- Participants who complete the winter school will receive 4 ECTS points.
