Program Overview
The Warsaw University of Technology hosted a course for senior management staff from the Persian Gulf countries, titled "Harnessing Disruption: Strategic Foresight for Resilience & Growth". The program was developed by Futures Diamond Ltd and Futures Capacity Academy (UK) in cooperation with the university.
Program Details
The course took place from October 6-10, 2025, and was attended by 20 high-ranking representatives of government administration and business leaders - members of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The sessions were led by Dr. Rafael Popper from the Faculty of Mechanical and Technological Engineering. The discussions focused on how strategic planning and innovation can support institutions in dealing with uncertainty, strengthening resilience, and transforming challenges into actions in the area of sustainable development.
Program Structure
The sessions were held at the building located at Rektorska 4 street and included visits to the Main Building and the Faculty of Architecture. The delegation was welcomed by representatives of the university authorities, who presented the international profile of the Warsaw University of Technology and its research areas.
Key Presentations
- Prof. Dr. Hab. In. Mariusz Malinowski, Vice-Rector for Science, welcomed the participants and presented the most important information about the Warsaw University of Technology.
- Dr. Hab. In. Renata Walczak, Professor of the university, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Mechanics and Petrochemistry, and Vice-Rector of the Pock Branch, emphasized the importance of petrochemical research conducted at the Warsaw University of Technology - particularly significant for the GCC region.
- Prof. Dr. Hab. In. Tomasz Chmielewski, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Technological Engineering, presented the activities of his faculty.
- Grzegorz Robak, Director of the Center for International Cooperation, discussed the possibilities of future cooperation between the Warsaw University of Technology and institutions from the Persian Gulf region in the areas of student exchange, education, research, capacity building, and co-creation of knowledge.
Additional Presentations
Dr. In. Krzysztof Ejsmont from the Faculty of Mechanical and Technological Engineering conducted a session on quality control supported by artificial intelligence in industry, presenting its significance for the Persian Gulf countries.
