Counselor Education and Supervision (Ph.D.)

The Counselor Education and Supervision doctoral program is designed to prepare students to become knowledgeable counselor educators, formidable leaders and advocates, competent researchers, and/or advanced counselors and supervisors in a variety of settings. The program prepares students to be competent in five areas: counseling, supervision, teaching, research and scholarship, and leadership and advocacy.

Program Requirements

The Counselor Education and Supervision track requires a minimum of 60 graduate semester credits beyond the master's degree. It also includes the successful completion of:

• Practicum and internship experiences
• Written and oral comprehensives
• A dissertation

Program Duration and Format

Students take between four and seven years to complete the requirements, and the program is primarily face-to-face.

Program Outcomes
