Form and composition 1
Program Overview
Program Details
The program is offered by the Faculty of Architecture, with a focus on design and structural engineering. The course, "Rajz 3," is a compulsory subject for students in the architectural engineering program.
Course Objectives
The objective of the course is to explore the possibilities of modeling in experimental form research, to experience structural and compositional balance, and to examine the geometric derivation of elementary architectural forms and their spatial effects. The course also aims to investigate the role of intuitive perspective in creating architectural visuals.
Course Structure
The course is divided into three blocks:
- Block I: Form Research and Composition
- Model assignment, experimental form research, harmony between structure and composition, physical and aesthetic balance of the work.
- Task: Create a stick structure model that simultaneously presents balance and imbalance. The model should be designed according to the principle of balance, with elements made of different sizes of pine wood sticks and balsa wood plates.
- Block II: Intuitive Perspective
- Examination of elementary architectural forms and their spatial effects. Large-scale space "vision drawing" using given elementary space forms.
- Block III: Presentation - Portfolio
- Portfolio-like compilation of the semester's material (photos, drawings, digital graphics) and uploading it in a specified format.
Course Credits and Responsibility
The course is worth 4 credits and is led by Sebestťny Ferenc DLA, a university adjunct.
