Program Overview

Professional Pilot Bachelor (BSc)

The Professional Pilot BSc program is designed for individuals interested in aviation, providing the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to build a career as a professional pilot. The Commercial Pilot specialization enables students to fly aircraft weighing up to several hundred tons and work in air operations, ground handling, or compliance assurance.

Program Description

The program offers a balanced combination of courses in basic engineering, mechanics, mathematics, computer and data science, aviation technology, and management. Students receive 228 hours of training, including 80 hours of simulator flights, exceeding the legal minimum of 145 flight hours for integrated training. The program provides practical and competence-oriented training with more than 300 landings, conducted by a partner flight school called CAVOK aviation training organization.

Additional Admission Requirements

Students can apply for non-type rated first officer or cadet positions with airlines in Europe or other countries that accept EASA certificates immediately after completing their training. The program does not provide type rating, but the last stage of training includes APS MCC training conducted in an Airbus A320 environment. Type rating is typically part of the admission procedure at airlines, depending on the aircraft types used.

When applying to the program, students need to submit a general medical check by a local doctor. After being accepted and enrolled, they must obtain a Class 1 Medical Certificate (EASA Part-MED 1178/2011 EU regulation) at their own expense by the end of the first semester (January 31st). Failure to pass the medical check will result in automatic dismissal from the university, and any scholarship will be cancelled. Students must also revalidate and renew the certificate at their own expense during their studies.
