The MFA Program in Creative Writing at the University of Michigan (UofM) is hosting a series of creative writing workshops.

Program Description

The program invites students and faculty to host four free creative writing workshops during the summer of 2025 at a bookstore. Participants are encouraged to write and share original works of poetry, nonfiction, and fiction. These events are free and open to the public, welcoming writers of all skill levels with no requirement for RSVP.

Workshop Schedule

• Multi-Genre Workshop: June 21st, 2025, 6:00-7:30pm
  • This workshop is open to all genres and encourages participants to explore different forms of writing.
• Nonfiction Workshop: June 28th, 2025, 6:00-7:30pm
  • Focusing on nonfiction, this workshop provides a platform for participants to share and develop their nonfiction writing skills.
• Fiction Workshop: July 12th, 2025, 6:00-7:30pm
  • Dedicated to fiction, this workshop offers participants the opportunity to write, share, and receive feedback on their fiction pieces.
• Poetry Workshop: July 19th, 2025, 6:00-7:30pm
  • This workshop is specifically designed for poetry, allowing participants to engage with and share their poetic works.
