Program Overview


Introduction to the Lowe's Retail Immersion Program

The Fogelman College of Business and Economics (FCBE), the Center for Professional Career Development (CPCD), and Lowe's are partnering to offer an exclusive program to outstanding business students. This program provides an all-access look inside one of the nation's leading retailers.


Overview of the Program

The Lowe's Retail Immersion Program is designed for 15 outstanding business students. It offers an immersive experience, allowing students to gain insight into the inner workings of a large retailer.


What's Included in the Program

  • Two-day, all-expenses-paid immersive experience in Mooresville and Charlotte, NC
  • Tours of Lowe's Headquarters, Design Lab, and Tech Hub
  • Learning from industry experts providing exposure across the enterprise
  • Exclusive Q&A session with Marvin Ellison, Chairman and CEO of Lowe's

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the program, students must:


  • Be a full-time FCBE major (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing, and Supply Chain Management)
  • Be an FCBE Junior student in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0+
  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities and/or have 20+ volunteer hours of philanthropic service

Application and Supplemental Materials

To apply, students must submit:


  • Application
  • Resume
  • Two Letters of Recommendation
    • One reference should be from a UofM professor/employee, and the second reference should be from someone in the community
  • Statement of Purpose/Essay (250-500 words)
    • Demonstrating leadership roles, commitment to philanthropic endeavors, and why participation in this program will positively benefit the student

Application Deadline

Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received, with encouragement to apply early. Applications for the Spring 2027 experience will open in the Fall 2026 semester.
