Introduction to the Loewenberg College of Nursing

The Loewenberg College of Nursing at the University of Memphis offers undergraduate degree paths that provide accessible and innovative higher education. Admission Criteria

To apply to the BSN program, prospective students must first apply to the University of Memphis and select their major as Academic Focus-Health Professions. Upon designation, prospective students are categorized as pre-nursing and receive guidance from a pre-nursing advisor at the Academic Advising Center.

The application process involves the following steps:


Step 1: Apply to the University of Memphis

Prospective students must apply to the University of Memphis and meet all university admissions requirements.


Step 2: Complete Nursing Application

Log in to the Tiger Tracks Portal to complete the nursing application.


Step 3: Submit Supporting Materials

As part of the application process, please prepare and submit the following documents:


  1. Letter of Intent: A one-page statement outlining interest in nursing, career goals, and any personal or professional experiences that have prepared you for nursing school.
  2. Resume: Submit a current resume that highlights academic achievements, healthcare or clinical experience, volunteer work, and leadership roles.
  3. Letters of Recommendation: Submit two letters of recommendation, one from an academic source and one from a professional or community source.
