Program Overview
The University Program in Pharmacy is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in the field of pharmacy, enabling them to participate competently in the design, development, and application of medications with the goal of safe and effective therapy.
Program Structure
The program is organized as a five-year integrated undergraduate and graduate study, consisting of ten semesters (300 ECTS credits). Upon completion, students are awarded the academic title of University Master of Pharmacy (univ. mag. pharm).

The Faculty of Pharmacy, a constituent of the University of Zagreb, is recognized for its excellence in pharmaceutical education at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as its contribution to science. The faculty is committed to addressing the challenges posed by rapid technological advancements in modern pharmacy, and to generating, transferring, and applying scientific knowledge for the benefit of individuals and society as a whole.
Curriculum
The curriculum is designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in pharmacy, including:
- Theoretical and practical training in pharmacotherapy, clinical pharmacy, pharmaceutical care, health legislation, communication skills, and pharmaceutical ethics and deontology
- A 6-month professional training program in public and hospital pharmacies
- Research areas, including pharmaceutical sciences, clinical sciences, and healthcare systems
Career Opportunities
Graduates of the program are qualified to work in:
- Pharmaceutical industry (research, production, technology, analytics, marketing, and registration of medications)
- Public and hospital pharmacies
- Agencies for medications and medical products

- Other public health institutions
Program Completion
The program is completed with the defense of a diploma thesis and the passing of a final professional exam. Upon completion, students are awarded a diploma and authorization to work independently in the healthcare system in designated positions and tasks.
