Description
This course is designed to train students in individual geological field techniques by encouraging individual (but supervised) fieldwork and mapping. During the course, students typically spend extended periods of time in the field working on a variety of group and individual projects. Students apply previously acquired skills in describing rocks, measuring sections, and recording geological field data. After this initial introductory phase, students complete a series of specific tests that include laboratory work. The fieldwork focuses on igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic complexes in Croatia (Medvednica, Moslavaka Gora, Slavonian Mountains, Inner Dinarides) or, under favorable circumstances, in the Alps and Carpathians. The field technique course ends with the creation of a geological map and a column. The written report contains field and laboratory data.
Literature
- Selected literature according to the instructor's guidelines, literature is adjusted to the individual task, Author.
Semester Information

Conclusion
The Field Techniques "MP" program is a critical component of the Master's program in Geology, providing students with hands-on experience in geological field techniques. It prepares students for their Master's thesis by enhancing their skills in fieldwork, data collection, and analysis, and is a stepping stone for those interested in pursuing a career in geology or related fields.
