Petrology

Petrology is a course that covers the study of rocks and their formation.

Item Description

The course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of petrology, including the study of magmatic, metamorphic, and sedimentary rocks. The course covers various topics, including:

• Petrogenic minerals, textures, structures, ways of appearance and melting of igneous rocks
• Origin, formation and evolution of magma
• Magmatic rocks of divergent plate boundaries, rift, oceanic crust, volcanism within the plate, hot flows
• Metamorphism, limits of metamorphism, metamorphic factors, metamorphic stage
• Sediments in the life and activities of man
