College of Nursing

The College of Nursing offers a range of academic programs, including the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) concentration.


Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) Concentration

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric conditions for children, adolescents, and adults. Treatments include both prescribing medications and providing appropriate therapeutic interventions, including psychotherapy. Graduates are eligible to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner examination for the Psychiatric-Mental Health NP (Across the Lifespan) national certification.


Program Features

  • Flexibility for working professionals (Didactic courses in seven-week format)
    • 49 credit hours online program over 7 semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer)
    • 675 clinical clock hours
    • Innovative simulation lab experiences incorporated
    • Two admission cycles per year (Fall and Spring)

Program Information

  • There is a Nurse Practitioner major fee (Tuition/Fees)
  • During specialty courses, usually the last three semesters, NP students:
    • May be asked to come to campus a maximum of three times per semester
    • Will participate in formative evaluations using innovative simulation lab experiences
  • May be required to travel 200 miles or more to fulfill appropriate clinical requirements

  • Non-Resident Student Tuition: $782.00 per semester credit hour
