Program Overview

The BBA in Finance with a Banking and Financial Institutions concentration is a comprehensive program that requires 120 credits to complete.


Program Requirements

To complete the program, students must fulfill the following requirements:


  • Business Designated Core: Complete all courses with a grade of C or better.
  • University Core Curriculum: Complete all requirements.
  • Business Core Required Courses:
    • Lower-Division Courses (require a C or better):
      • ACCT 2301: Principles of Accounting I (3 hours)
      • ACCT 2302: Principles of Accounting II (3 hours)
      • ECON 2304: Principles of Microeconomics (3 hours)
      • QMB 2301: Business Stats & Analytics I (3 hours)
    • Math Elective: Select one of the following (3-4 hours):
      • MATH 1411: Calculus I
      • MATH 2301: Math for Social Sciences II
    • Upper-Division Courses (do not require a C or better):

The concentration requires the following courses:

  • FIN 4311: Bank Management (3 hours)
  • FIN 4312: Current Issues in Banking (3 hours)
  • FIN 4318: Fin Anal of Firm & Valuation (3 hours)
  • FIN 4329: Bank Lending (3 hours)
  • ECON 3320: Money and Banking (3 hours)
  • Select 3 additional hours from the following:

Minor Requirement

Students must select a twelve-hour Business minor or certificate.
