The Istanbul, Turkey Project Center - MQP is an active program that operates during the E-Term in the summer. It offers a Major Qualifying Project (MQP) opportunity for students.
Program Location and Description
Istanbul, Türkiye's vibrant metropolis, is a city where the ancient and modern coexist in perfect harmony. As the former capital of the Eastern Roman, Byzantine, Latin, and Ottoman Empires, it is steeped in history, with stunning historic sites at every turn. Uniquely positioned at the crossroads of two continents—Europe and Asia—Istanbul offers a rich cultural blend that is unmatched anywhere else.
Cultural and Academic Environment
The city is a hub of cultural activity, hosting prestigious events such as the Istanbul Biennale, the Istanbul Film Festival, and the Istanbul Jazz Festival. Designated as the 2010 European Capital of Culture, Istanbul continues to thrive as a center of arts, music, and entertainment. With two international airports, the city is just 1 hour away from domestic destinations and 1 to 3 hours away from international attraction centers.
University and Campus Life
Sabancı University is conveniently located on the eastern outskirts of Istanbul, in the district of Tuzla. As a private, independent, and relatively young university, it provides a student-friendly campus just 20 minutes away from Sabiha Gökçen Airport.
