Post-Baccalaureate Program
For students who already hold a bachelor's degree, the post-baccalaureate teaching certification program is available, with the possibility of applying previous coursework towards the program.

UWM Admission
- Undergraduate Admission: Meet all UWM admissions requirements and complete the Universities of Wisconsin Application.
- Post-Baccalaureate Certification: For individuals with an undergraduate degree aspiring to become classroom teachers, leading to teaching certification and licensure.
- Graduate Admission: Meet all UWM Graduate School admission requirements for the School of Education Curriculum and Instruction, MS or Exceptional Education, MS program.
Application Process for Post-Baccalaureate Students
- Complete the Universities of Wisconsin Application, selecting "Degree" and "Bachelor's Degree" to ensure correct coding.
- Choose UW-Milwaukee as the campus and select "Education & Training" followed by the specific area.
- Include a statement in the essay portion indicating the pursuit of teaching certification and any current WI teaching license information or subject areas of interest.
- Submit official transcripts from all institutions, except UWM.
School of Education: Advancement to Professional Sequence Process
All applicants must meet specific requirements to advance to the professional program sequence, including:
- Undergraduate students: 58 credits with a 2.5 GPA, 2.75 GPA in English content courses, and additional requirements.
- Post-Baccalaureate students: A bachelor's degree, cumulative 2.5 GPA, 2.75 GPA in English content courses, and applications must be received by September 27.
