University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Biological Sciences Accelerated Master's Non-Thesis Program

The Accelerated Master's Non-Thesis Program is designed for high-achieving Biological Sciences students seeking to:


  • Complete an undergraduate and graduate degree in 5 years
  • Prepare for applications to professional schools
  • Advance their careers in a scientific profession not requiring a doctorate

UWM Biological Sciences Accelerated Master's Non-Thesis Program Timeline

The program timeline is as follows:


  • Semester Five: Indicate interest in the accelerated program and meet with the MSNT advisor
  • Semester Six: Plan enrollment by enrolling in six forward-shared graduate-level credits for semester seven
  • Semester Seven: Complete the Graduate School application, taking forward-shared credits, with a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0 (requirement of B or better in forward-shared credits) to apply for a spring start
  • Semester Eight: Start graduate status, beginning backward-shared credits
  • Semester Nine: Complete backward-shared credits
  • Semester 10: Graduation, completing graduate-level credits

Program Details

  • The program allows students to complete both undergraduate and graduate degrees in 5 years
