Program Overview


Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program

The Lubar College of Business offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to succeed in today's fast-paced business environment.


Admission Requirements

Admission to the MBA program is separate, and requirements are consistent with those specified by the UWM Graduate School and the Lubar College of Business. Application deadlines vary by program, and other important dates and deadlines can be found through the One Stop calendars.


Credit and Courses

The total credits for the MBA program are 33-40 credits, depending on the student's background and goals. Students accepted into the MBA program complete the following courses:


  • BUSMGMT 704: Accounting Analysis and Control (3 credits)
  • BUSMGMT 705: Corporate Finance (3 credits)
  • BUSMGMT 706: Managing in a Dynamic Environment (3 credits)
  • BUSMGMT 707: Information Technology Management in International Businesses (3 credits)
  • BUSMGMT 708: Marketing Strategy: Concepts and Practice (3 credits)
  • BUSMGMT 709: Predictive Analytics for Managers (3 credits)
  • BUSMGMT 711: Global Supply Chain Strategies & Competitive Operations (3 credits)
  • BUSMGMT 712: Strategic Management (capstone) (3 credits)
    • Electives: 9 credits (selected in consultation with faculty advisors from among all approved MBA elective courses)
  • Total Credits: 33-40

Additional Requirements

The MBA program typically takes two years to complete but can be completed in as little as one year for students with significant business experience. A student not completing the requirements for the MBA program would need to complete all requirements for an individual program to receive a degree.


Time Limit

Students in the MBA program must complete all degree requirements within five years of the first enrollment semester as a degree student.
