Program Overview

The Library and Information Science MLIS/Geography MA is a dual degree program designed for students who want to gain advanced knowledge and skills in library and information science and geography. The degree program is offered by the School of Information Studies and is available to students who are currently enrolled in a graduate program or who have already completed a graduate degree.


Admission Requirements

To pursue the Library and Information Science MLIS/Geography MA, students must meet the admission requirements for the UWM Graduate School. These requirements include:


  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • A minimum GPA of 2.75
  • A personal statement
  • Two letters of recommendation

Program Structure

The Library and Information Science MLIS/Geography MA requires 60 credits of coursework, consisting of:
