Program Overview


Program Overview

The MBA/DNP program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of business principles and practices, as well as the advanced nursing skills needed to provide high-quality patient care. The program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and is designed to prepare students for leadership roles in healthcare.


Admission Requirements

Students are admitted to both graduate programs separately, and admission requirements are consistent with those specified by the UWM Graduate School, the DNP program, and the MBA program.


Credits and Courses

Students accepted into the MBA/DNP program complete the following courses:


  • DNP Course List
    • NURS 701: Advanced Nursing Practice (3 credits)
    • NURS 703: Nursing Research (3 credits)
    • NURS 705: Healthcare Systems (3 credits)
    • Electives: Select 12 additional credits within the DNP program (12 credits)
    • Electives: Select 12 additional credits with the consent of the student's advisor (12 credits)
    • Total Credits: 33
  • Master of Business Administration
    • Students entering the MBA program will be placed, at the discretion of the MBA Director, in one of two tracks (A or B) within the core.
    • The minimum degree requirement is 39 credits for Track A and 42 for Track B.
