Program Overview


Introduction to University Programs

The College of Letters and Science, Department of Public and Nonprofit Administration, offers several graduate programs. The public and nonprofit administration unit (PNA) is responsible for these programs.


Graduate Programs

The PNA oversees the following graduate programs:


  • Master of Science in Nonprofit Management and Leadership
  • Master of Public Administration
  • Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management

Joint and Coordinated Programs

PNA partners with other departments to offer joint and coordinated programs, including:


  • A coordinated Master of Public Administration/Master of Urban Planning program, in partnership with the Department of Urban Planning
  • A joint Master of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration, in partnership with the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare

Undergraduate Courses

Undergraduate courses in public administration are available, providing a background for students interested in pursuing graduate degrees in the field. These courses can also enhance studies in another program with an understanding of the administration of public and nonprofit programs.
