The 2025 International Higher Education Alliance for Mining, Energy and Environment (AMEE) & Jiangsu-UK World Class University Consortium Summer School Program was hosted by China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT). The program aims to provide diverse curricula with global perspectives and cutting-edge insights, serving as a vital bridge for cross-cultural exchanges and international collaboration among AMEE and Jiangsu-UK World Class University Consortium member institutions.
Program Overview
The summer school program has been committed to providing a platform for cross-cultural dialogue and international collaboration since its inception in 2014. Over the past decade, the program has attracted more than 300 outstanding students from over ten countries and regions.
Program Details
- The program runs from June 23 to July 4.
- It has drawn 44 students from 12 universities, including:
- AGH University of Krakow (Poland)
- TU Freiberg and RWTH Aachen (Germany)
- EPF Graduate School of Engineering (France)
- Institutions in Russia, Australia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Ecuador, and the UK
- The program blends traditional engineering courses (e.g., mining engineering, rock mechanics) with emerging disciplines (e.g., advanced manufacturing, renewable energy) and Chinese culture and economy modules, offering international students a holistic academic and cultural experience.
Program Objectives
- Provide a platform for cross-cultural exchanges and international collaboration among AMEE and Jiangsu-UK World Class University Consortium member institutions.

Program Speakers
- Vice President Bian Zhengfu attended and delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
- Prof. Piotr Makowski from AGH University Krakow, Poland, representing AMEE member universities, highlighted CUMT's leadership in energy research and the alliance's contributions to addressing global energy challenges.
- Prof. Chen Ning, a teacher from CUMT's School of Low-Carbon Energy and Power Engineering, emphasized the program's role as a platform for cross-cultural dialogue.
