Program Overview


International Peace and Coexistence Program

The International Peace and Coexistence Program is based on peace studies, cultural anthropology, political science, law, ethics, area studies, and memory studies, with a focus on acquiring fundamental knowledge and critical examination of "peace and coexistence." The program covers various issues, including nuclear damage, conflicts, poverty, gender, ethnicity, and religious inequality, as well as formal and informal institutions, development and culture, war and ethics, and security and nuclear weapons.


Program Overview

The program is unique in that it allows students to research various issues in domestic and international societies, along with students from diverse backgrounds from around the world, in "Hiroshima," a city that symbolizes peace. All lectures are conducted in English, but students can write their master's or doctoral theses in Japanese.
