Introduction to the International Education Development Program
The International Education Development Program is a doctoral program that aims to realize a high-quality lifelong learning society in developing countries and regions, as well as to achieve sustainable educational development from a global perspective. The program focuses on various themes related to educational development in the Asian and African regions.
Program Overview
In the first phase of the doctoral program, students will study a wide range of topics related to educational development, including:
- Education policy
- Education planning
- Project evaluation
- Education personnel development
- Basic education
- Early childhood education and care

In the second phase of the doctoral program, students will build on their research from the first phase and develop educational and research activities that take into account the characteristics of each country and region. HU-JICA Collaborative Program: JOCV Zambia Dispatch Program
This program is a collaborative effort between Hiroshima University and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). It aims to develop human resources who can work in the field of international educational cooperation. Students in this program will spend about six months to one year studying at Hiroshima University, followed by a two-year assignment as a JOCV teacher in Zambia. After returning to Japan, they will spend about six months to one year completing their master's thesis.
