AIMS (ASEAN International Mobility for Students)
Introduction to AIMS
The AIMS program is a student exchange program that aims to foster global human resources by promoting mutual understanding and academic exchange among universities in ASEAN countries and Japan. Hiroshima University has been selected for the "Project for Enhancing the International Competitiveness of Universities" supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and has started an exchange program with Kasetsart University in Thailand.
Program Details
- Program Name: Core Human Resource Development Program for Contributing to Peacebuilding through Economic Development and Trust Building in Asia
- Program Purpose and Target Human Resources: Based on the university's basic philosophy of "seeking peace" and "coexisting with local and international communities," this program aims to cultivate core human resources who can contribute to Asia's economic development, trust building, and peacebuilding by providing educational and research resources in fields where the university has strengths.
- Destination: Kasetsart University (Thailand)
- Target Participants: Undergraduate students
- Number of Participants: 10 students per year
- Duration: 1 semester (August to December)
- Period: Mid-August to late December
Program Content
- The Faculty of Biological Production, Hiroshima University, will conduct student exchanges with the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Fisheries, and Faculty of Agro-Industry, Kasetsart University.
- Students will take courses at Kasetsart University and earn credits that can be recognized by Hiroshima University.
Credit Recognition
- Students must earn at least 12 credits at Kasetsart University to be recognized by Hiroshima University.
- Note that the treatment of credits may vary depending on the educational program, so please check with the student support office of your faculty for details.
Internship
- Participating students will visit companies, transportation facilities, agricultural and fishing villages, and schools in their field and undergo practical training.
- Candidate destinations for internships include:
- Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Water Resources Bureau
- JICA Thailand Office
- SEAFDEC (Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center)
Accommodation
- Students will stay in a dormitory within Kasetsart University (planned).
Tuition Fees
- There is no need to pay tuition fees separately to Kasetsart University.
Scholarships
- Students who meet the requirements will be awarded a scholarship by JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization), which is a non-repayable grant.
