AIMS (ASEAN International Mobility for Students)
Introduction
The University of Hiroshima has been selected for the "University Internationalization Promotion Project" supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. This project involves a student exchange program with credit transfer, utilizing the AIMS program framework. AIMS stands for "ASEAN International Mobility for Students," a program that aims to foster global human resources by exchanging students among universities in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei, and Japan.
Program Details
- Program Name: Core Human Resource Development Program for Contributing to Peacebuilding through Economic Development and Trust Building in Asia
- Program Objective: To cultivate core human resources that can contribute to peacebuilding through economic development and trust building in Asia, based on the university's founding spirit of "seeking peace" and "coexistence with local and international communities"
- Destination: Kasetsart University (Thailand)
- Eligibility: Undergraduate students
- Number of Students to be Dispatched: 10 students per year
- Duration of Dispatch: 1 semester (August to December)
- Dispatch Period: Mid-August to late December
Program Content
- The Faculty of Biological Production at the University of Hiroshima will conduct student exchanges with the Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Fisheries, and Faculty of Agro-Industry at Kasetsart University.
- Students will take courses at Kasetsart University and earn a minimum of 12 credits, which will be recognized by the University of Hiroshima.
Internship
- Dispatched students will participate in practical training at companies, transportation facilities, agricultural and fishing villages, and schools in Thailand.
- Potential training locations include:
- Department of Agricultural Cooperation
- JICA Thailand Office
- SEAFDEC (Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center)
Accommodation
- Students will stay in a dormitory at Kasetsart University (planned)
Tuition Fees
- There is no need to pay tuition fees to Kasetsart University separately.
Scholarships
- Students who meet the requirements will be eligible for a scholarship from JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization), which does not require repayment.
