Introduction to the Food Science Program
Aiming to Create Healthy and Abundant Food
The Food Science Program aims to cultivate human resources that can contribute to the creation of healthy and abundant food. To achieve this, the program provides students with fundamental knowledge and technical skills in sustainable food production, distribution management, and the manufacture of safe, high-functioning, and high-quality food products. This is accomplished through specialized lectures, experiments, food manufacturing practices, and factory tours.

The program's objectives include:
- Acquiring specialized knowledge in food production management and distribution, and being able to comprehensively consider strategies for the stable supply of safe food.
- Acquiring specialized knowledge and universal skills in food manufacturing and processing, and understanding practical strategies for converting food materials into safe, high-functioning, and high-quality food products.
- Acquiring fundamental and specialized knowledge and skills in the evaluation and control of food safety, nutrition, palatability, physiological function, and physical properties, as well as new and effective utilization.
- Integrating the flow of food from production to consumption, and understanding it as a unified system. Students will utilize the acquired knowledge, skills, and attitudes to solve problems they have set, and logically express and discuss their conclusions in writing or orally.
