Program Overview
The Special Support Education Teacher Training Program (Basic Course) is designed to provide fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for teachers to promote special support education in elementary, junior high, and high schools.
Program Details
- Implementation Location: On-demand
- Purpose: To provide basic knowledge and skills required for special support education teachers to expand and promote special support education.
- Total Hours: 90 hours
- Eligibility: Applicants must have or be expected to have a teacher's license for elementary, junior high, or high school.
- Program Period: June 2026 to January 2027 (first and second semesters)
- Capacity: 20 students
Program Content
The program systematically covers the institution of special support education, psychology, physiology, and guidance methods for various disabilities, as well as understanding the reality, curriculum, and guidance content.
Completion Requirements
To complete the program, students must attend (or view) all classes and pass the final exam for each class. Individual classes may have separate assignments.
Unit Granting
No units are granted for this program. However, if a student is permitted to enroll as a course auditor, they may receive units for the selected courses.
Implementation System
A committee of instructors in charge of the program will plan, implement, evaluate, and address issues related to the program. The committee will also provide counseling for applicants.

- The program utilizes Google Classroom.
- The tuition fee is 45,000 yen, which is calculated based on the total hours of the selected courses.
- Payment instructions will be sent after enrollment, and the fee is non-refundable.
- Additional fees for admission and examination may apply if registering as a course auditor.
Program Structure
The program consists of the following courses:
- LD Education Overview (30 hours, 2 units)
- Special Support Education Support Technology Overview (30 hours, 2 units)
- Introduction to Universal Design for Learning (30 hours, 2 units)

- Application Period: Until February 27, 2026
- Application Method: Submit the application form, resume, and certificate of eligibility (such as a teacher's license) by mail.
