Introduction to the RMBS MBA & SMU MSA Degree Program

The MBA Program Center is excited to announce the establishment of a double degree MBA program with Singapore Management University's School of Accountancy in Singapore. Students will spend the first year at RMBS and apply for the program in the second semester.

Program Overview

The MSA program comprises 12 courses taught over two years on a part-time basis or over one year on a full-time basis, commencing in August. It combines the practical use of the latest analytics technology and data sets, as well as real-world experience using actual company cases and innovative teaching pedagogy such as the SMU-X. This knowledge of how and where to apply technological expertise in authentic settings will enable graduates to perform the higher-level tasks that are increasingly expected of accountants.

  • Programming with Data Analytics for Financial Instruments
  • Managing for Value Creation
  • Data Management Analytics for Value Investing
  • Accounting Information Systems
  • Data Modelling and Visualisation
  • Accounting Analytics Capstone (SMU-X)
  • Internships or Independent Studies (optional)
  • SMU Postgraduate Professional Development Series and SOA Masters Industrial Talk Series

Course Delivery

Courses are delivered over three semesters:

• AUG-DEC: Financial Reporting in the IFRS World (Part I), Applied Statistics for Data Analysis
• JAN-APR: Financial Reporting in the IFRS World (Part II), Analytics for Financial Instruments
• APR-JUL: Data Management Analytics for Value Investing, Programming with Data, Accounting Information Systems
  • Part-time candidates will take certain modules in their second year of study.

Application Requirements

Students are pre-selected by RMBS. The following documents are required for pre-selection:

• Identification documents
• Degree scroll and academic transcripts
• Curriculum vitae
• Official GMAT Score or SMU Admission Test
• TOEFL/IELTS (For graduates of non-English programmes)

Program Fees

• Application Fee: S$100
• Deposit and Registration:
  • For Singaporeans & PR: S$5,000 (Deposit) + S$400 (Registration)
  • For International Applicants: S$5,000 (Deposit) + S$500 (Registration)
• Tuition: Please refer to the program website for the prevailing tuition fees. For reference, AY 2024/25: S$52,320 (Inclusive of GST)
• SMU scholarship is available.
• Registration fee and deposit will be credited towards the payment of the SMU tuition fees.
• Admitted Renmin MBA students or alumni will get a discount of S$4,000.
• Students with outstanding academic achievement and personal excellence are eligible for dedicated Partner University (PU) scholarship awards up to S$10,000.
• The tuition discount and scholarships are not mutually exclusive, and accepted students may receive both discount and scholarships.
