Program Overview
Introduction to the University Program
The university offers a research student exchange program with institutions in Macau and Taiwan. This program allows students to study abroad for one semester, with tuition fees waived by the host institution.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the program, students must:
- Be a full-time research student within the standard study period
- Have a corresponding major at the host institution
- Be able to cover living expenses during the exchange period
- Meet the requirements outlined in the "Management Regulations for Research Students' Overseas Exchange Programs" (2022-2023 academic year, school document No. 21)
Selection Plan
The program has 12 available spots, distributed among the following institutions:
- Macau University of Science and Technology: 2 spots
- Requirements: Good English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills; ability to adapt to an English teaching environment
- Notes: The Medical College does not accept exchange students
- National Chengchi University (Taiwan): 4 spots
- Requirements: None specified
- Notes: The Asia-Pacific Studies English program and the International Business Management English program do not accept exchange students; students cannot leave Taiwan during the exchange period
- Feng Chia University (Taiwan): 1 spot
- Requirements: None specified
- Notes: The university cannot guarantee on-campus accommodation
- Tamkang University (Taiwan): 1 spot
- Requirements: None specified
- Notes: The Department of Mass Communication and the Department of Architecture have limited spots for exchange students; the Institute of International Affairs and Strategic Studies does not accept exchange students

Application and Selection Process
Student Application
- Application Deadline: October 13, 2025, 11:00 AM
- Online Application: Students must log in to the research student education information system, fill in the application form, upload required materials, and print the application form
- Submission of Application Materials: Students must submit the application form, a copy of their Chinese transcript (from undergraduate studies onwards), foreign language proficiency certificates (for applications to Macau University of Science and Technology), and other relevant materials to their college or department
College/Department Recommendation
- Recommendation Deadline: October 17, 2025, 11:00 AM
- Online Recommendation: Colleges/departments must log in to the research student education information system, review and recommend applicants, and print the "College/Department Recommendation Summary List"
- Submission of Recommendation Materials: Colleges/departments must submit the recommendation list and student application materials to the Graduate School
Comprehensive Interview
The Graduate School and the Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan Affairs Office will jointly conduct a comprehensive interview for qualified applicants. The interview is scheduled to take place around October 22, 2025.
Notes
- Applicants can also apply for a second-choice project (within the same batch of schools).
- Exchange students to Taiwan must arrive and depart on the designated dates and cannot leave Taiwan during the exchange period.
- The university will announce subsequent comprehensive interview notifications and the list of recommended candidates on the Graduate School's website.
