Program Overview
Master of Education (Technical and Vocational Education)
The Master of Education (Technical and Vocational Education) is a specially designed program leading to the degree of Master and Doctor of Philosophy in various areas of education. This program caters to teaching or training professionals who are seeking in-depth knowledge, research skills, career advancement, and provide professional leadership in the specialized fields of education.
Mode of Programme
The program is offered through Taught Course/Open Distance Learning (ODL).
Duration of Programme
The duration of the program is 2-8 semesters, subject to the current lesson plan and UTM academic regulations.
Admission Requirements
- CGPA 2.5 for the bachelor's degree in Education or bachelor's degree from other areas of specialization with a Diploma in Education with CGPA not less than 2.5; or
- Bachelor's degree with CGPA < 2.5 but have teaching experience or relevant work experience may be considered subject to conditions and procedures prescribed by the University; or
- Candidates without professional qualifications may be considered into the program but must complete one additional course during the first semester of the program:

Admission through APEL
Candidates with an APEL.A T7 certificate can be considered for admission (subject to faculty approval).
Visa Application for International Students
All international students who wish to enroll in UTM's Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs are required to obtain EMGS Approval for Study prior to admission.
English Requirements for International Students
International students who wish to enroll in the postgraduate programs at UTM must meet the English language competency requirements as stipulated below:
- Malaysia University Entrance Test (MUET) with a minimum score of Band 4.0 and above; or
- IELTS with a minimum score of Band 6.0 and above; or
- TOEFL iBT with a minimum score of 60 and above; or
- Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) B2 First (FCE), C1 Advanced (CAE), C2 Proficiency (CPE), with a minimum score of 169 and above; or
- Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic with a minimum score of 59 and above; or
- Certified Intensive English Programme Level (CIEP Level) achieving Level 109 and above.

- MPHV 2233: Supervision in TVE (3 Credits)

- MPHV 2253: Entrepreneurship in TVE (3 Credits)

Other Fees
- Short semester fee: The fees applicable for registering for a short semester course are as follows:
- (a) Service fee: 1,470.00
- (b) Study fee: RM XX per credit hour (03 credits = RM XX)
- Graduation fee: Fee is based on the current rate and subject to changes.
Notes
All fees are subject to changes. The term and conditions of the study fee: For Taught Course and Mixed Mode students, the study fee rate will be determined based on the number of credit hours that they have registered within the period for Amendment of Course Registration. Course Withdrawal after the Amendment of Course Registration period will not affect the fees for the semester.
