Program Overview
AED & CPR Certified Training 2025
The IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Centre, in collaboration with UTM Health Centre (PKUTM), organized the first certified automated external defibrillator (AED) & cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) professional course at UTM, titled AED & CPR Certified Training 2025.
Program Details
The program was held on 21 August 2025 at Building T03, UTM Johor Bahru, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The training brought together 17 participants from various UTM departments as well as members of the public.
Objectives and Outcomes
The main focus of the training was to equip participants with essential Basic Life Support (BLS) skills, particularly CPR techniques and the proper use of AED. The course followed the most recent American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines, ensuring international best practices were taught. Participants received a Professional Certification (Valid for 2 years), making them officially recognized as competent users in CPR and AED.
Course Structure and Delivery
The program was conducted by Dr. Mohammad Sya'rani bin Najmuddin, Medical Officer at UTM Health Centre, who is a certified BLS trainer. Through hands-on training and practical demonstrations, Dr. Mohammad Sya'rani emphasized the importance of quick, confident action during emergencies and provided participants with the skills to intervene effectively.
