Master of Sustainable Systems

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the programme, applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering or related fields with a CGPA of 3.0 (out of 4.00) from institutions of higher learning recognized by the UTM senate. For other degrees or CGPA of less than 3.0, a minimum of two years of working experience in a related field is required. International students must obtain a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent qualification.


Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)

The programme has the following educational objectives:


  • PEO 1: To produce transformation agents capable of sustaining existing technologies and processes.
  • PEO 2: To demonstrate innovative leadership skills that can lead the advancement of science and technology in all sectors related to sustainable systems.
  • PEO 3: To produce proactive members who engage in multidisciplinary teams and contribute towards a sustainable society.

  • PLO1: Critically analyze complex information with originality and knowledge in specialized concepts, theories, methods, and practice in sustainable systems.
  • PLO2: Construct solutions for solving complex issues using advanced approaches, knowledge, and innovative solutions for sustainable systems.
  • PLO3: Conduct sustainability standard practical skills at the forefront of knowledge and latest development tools.
  • PLO4: Work collaboratively with different people in learning and working communities ethically and professionally.
  • PLO5: Communicate clearly the knowledge, skills, ideas, critique, and conclusion with rationale using appropriate methods to peers, experts, and non-experts.
  • PLO6: Competently use a wide range of suitable digital technologies and appropriate software to enhance the solution of complex issues.
  • PLO7: Apply mathematical and other quantitative, qualitative tools to analyze and evaluate numerical and graphical data for interpretation.
  • PLO8: Demonstrate significant autonomy, independence, leadership, and responsibility skills at unpredictable situations within collaboratively team to solve complex issues.
  • PLO9: Recognize the need for continuous academic and professional development through self-advancement.
  • PLO10: Initiate entrepreneurial projects by developing business plans for related products.
