Program Overview
The Top-Design program is a professional academic semester course offered by the Faculty of Engineering at Chiba University. The program aims to foster internationalization and exchange among students from around the world, providing them with the opportunity to study at one of Japan's leading universities.
Program Details
- Duration: The program lasts from mid-April to mid-August, with breaks and holidays according to the university's calendar.

- Industrial Design using the Latest Technology (5 credits)

Eligibility and Application
- Eligibility:
- Full-time university students in their second year or above, majoring in Industrial Design or related fields.
- Students with a university English proficiency level of 4 or above (or equivalent).
- Students with excellent academic records and good conduct.
- Students who have been recommended by their university and are permitted to study abroad.
- Application Process:
- Submit the application form by the deadline (November 6, 2019).
- Prepare and submit required application materials.
- Pass the application review and pay all fees.
- Apply for accommodation and complete other necessary procedures.
Fees and Expenses
- Program Participation Fee: The fee includes assistance with online application, application materials, international mailing, residence application, pre-departure guidance, airport pickup, assistance with registration at the local municipal office, bank account opening, mobile phone service setup, and national health insurance.
- Excluded Expenses: International airfare, Japanese visa fees, accommodation fees in Japan, personal expenses, and other costs not covered by the program participation fee.

- Student Benefits: Participants can use university facilities, including the library, campus network, and cafeteria, and can purchase student tickets for public transportation.
- Part-time Work: Students with a "Study" visa can apply for a "Qualification for Part-time Work" permit, allowing them to work up to 28 hours per week.
