Introduction to the Super Global University (SGU) Project
The Super Global University (SGU) project, formerly known as the Global 30 (G30) project, is an initiative by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology to enhance the international competitiveness of Japanese universities. Launched in 2009, the project aims to attract talented individuals from around the world to study in Japan.

The SGU project offers a range of programs, including undergraduate and graduate degree programs, as well as language programs and short-term programs. The project is designed to provide students with a high-quality education, as well as opportunities for cultural exchange and personal growth.

- Top-type universities (11 national and 2 private universities), which aim to become world-class universities
- Globalization-type universities (10 national, 2 public, and 12 private universities), which aim to create an internationalized university environment
Application Requirements
To apply for the SGU project, students must meet the following requirements:
- GPA: 3.0/4.0 or higher
- English proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 90 or higher
- GRE or GMAT scores (required for some programs)
- Research plan (required for graduate programs)
- Letters of recommendation (2-3)
- Certificate of graduation and transcript
- Passport copy
- Photo (4cm x 3cm)
Project Fees
The project fee for the SGU project is approximately 35,000 CNY (Chinese yuan).
