The Super Global University (SGU) project, formerly known as the Global 30 (G30) project, is an initiative by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology to enhance the international competitiveness of Japanese universities. Launched in 2009, the project aims to attract talented individuals from around the world to study in Japan.

Application Requirements

To apply for the SGU project, students must meet the following requirements:

• GPA: 3.0/4.0 or higher
• English proficiency: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 90 or higher
• GRE or GMAT scores (required for some programs)
• Research plan (required for graduate programs)
• Letters of recommendation (2-3)
• Certificate of graduation and transcript
• Passport copy
• Photo (4cm x 3cm)
